Happy Birthday Joe

Earlier this year my sisters best friend of all time was in a tragic accident involving a Trax Train. Today is Joe's 20th birthday and I just wanted to wish him a very happy birthday.

My sisters and I have always wanted a brother, growing up with all girls was fun but we have all said we wished for a brother. To us Joe was that brother, he spent a lot of time at our house, especially since he didn't have a car and he lived only a few houses down from us, I often referred to him as my little brother. I know he was just like a brother to Kaitie, they were extremely close they were like twins. They even fought like a brother and sister would, but when it came right down to it they always had each others backs.

Joe was a friendly giant, he was tall and very well built, which he was very proud of! He played basketball for West Jordan High and excelled at it. Joe was loved by everyone and had more friends than anyone I know. Joe was very adventurous, I remember one night he came over to our house and he was limping he then told the story of how he was snowboarding and he wanted to do one more run before the bus came, well the bus came and he was on the lift, his sister called him to let him know he was going to miss the bus, he then decided to jump off the lift to try and make the bus! He didn't make it!

I have so many great memories of Joe that make me laugh whenever I think of them. I can't even tell you how many times he would come over and drink from any glass on the counter, which usually was always my dad's, he always keeps a big glass of water on the bar. Later he would come up and yell "alright who drank all my water" and we would just laugh because it was always Joe!

Joe was very ticklish so we loved to try and tickle him. One time he was standing in the kitchen at the end of the bar and I snuck up behind him and started tickling his sides, i've never seen anyone so big fall so hard, he went straight down to the tile with a loud thud!

I would often receive random text messages from Joe sometimes in the middle of the night and they were usually always filled with big words, he loved big words and used them in everyday conversation. He would sometimes text me and ask how to spell some really long word that I usually had never heard of. He loved texting and texted all the time. Once he texted Kaitie 19 messages in a row to tell her about his dream he had.

Joe, we miss you and love you so very much. You are in our hearts everyday and we are grateful for the precious time we had with you. You have definitely left your giant handprint on all of our hearts. Because we knew you we have been changed for good!

One last thing Joe...you're so voluptuous!! (one of his favorite words and he used it incorrectly all the time and he said he knew that and didn't care because he loved the word!)

Bachelorette Party!!!!

The only thing this party was missing was one of my very best friends, I told her we would get a bunch of pics for her! Ash these are for you, love ya!! This party was awesome, i'm so very grateful for all my dear friends who put it together, I had so much fun!

Robby did a fantastic job hosting, it was held at his house and he went above and beyone, fresh flower arrangements on all the tables, he had little jars of gumballs to give to all the girls as favors, it was so cute! He has been such a good friend to me since kindergarten!!

Robin Hood and Meghan Hood!
Those were our nicknames for each other in elementary

These girls planned a great party! Rachel and Cho made some yummy salad and Laura made some fantastic cupcakes and some individual trifles that tasted heavenly! Rachel put together a video of Chad being asked a series of questions, all the girls at the party were given the questions and they had to ask me and I had to guess what Chad said, then we watched what Chad's answer was, if I got it wrong then Rachel made me eat a piece of Double Bubble, she made me eat some everytime Chad had a long pause...I ate A LOT of bubble gum! It was super cute and Chad did such a good job!

Oh Jenny!!! What can I say other than I love you to pieces! Jenny was a co-party planner, she made mock pina coladas for everyone, I loved it!! I was thinking earlier in the week how I would love to have something like that and she read my mind! Thanks for being such a great friend Jenny!

Here's one table of girlfriends, there was another table in the formal dining room that was decorated so cute too!

Rachie and I, we have been friends since first grade, I love that we have stayed close through the years, we have so many awesome childhood memories together and I cherish them!

This is Rob and I totally dominating the game! I was blind folded and Robby had to direct me to put the stick through the toilet paper roll between his legs, I think we did it within seconds!!

Robby won those sexy pink undies for winning the game! Here we are just posing with our winnings and some of my presents!

Sisters!!! I love my little sisters and I especially love wearing all their clothes! Thanks Kaitie for supplying my ENTIRE outfit for the night!!!

Surprise Bachelorette Party!!!!

Rachel had asked me like a month in advance if we could plan a night right before my wedding to hang out, she was so sneaky making me think we would just spend a quiet night in chilling watching movies...The Monday before my wedding the girls came marching down to my room clothes in hand and said "put these on we're going out!!" So Nichole threw my hair up and Laura beautified me with colorful makeup

The mastermind behind this...none other than my bestest friend Rachel!

All our funky socks, it was a golfing party minus the golfing it was too cold so we went to a movie instead

Here was are at the District in these awesomly matching chairs, they complimented our outfits so well!

Rach and I hanging out in the theater waiting for the movie to start
The night before the big day!

I took my mom, sisters and Rach to get pedicures so all of our feet would look nice and pretty for the wedding. The girl that did mine kept trying to get me to put ugly stickers on my toes I think I said no 20 times! Then after she painted them she tried to get me to let her paint white flowers, NO WAY!! I ended up redoing them when I got home I gave myself gold glitter toes and they looked great!

My mom and I

I was starting to panic while we were getting pedi's my mom and I had to make 7 new centerpieces because we didn't have enough for the dinner, my mom and I don't know the first thing about arranging flowers, I started to feel a little in over my head, then Rachel called her mom and sister and they luckly came over. It was Denise to the rescue, her and Sarah put all the arrangements together and they looked amazing! I am so grateful for Rachel's family and how good they are to me, they have treated me like family throughout the years and I love them all so very much!

Catching up!

Ozzy loves Chad everytime Chad sits down or lays anywhere Ozzy is right there and he'll choose Chad over any of us girls. I love this pic so much though, it's two of my favorite things a cat and Chad, now if only he were holding a cupcake instead of a remote then it would be complete!

This is the Oreo Rice Krispie Tower I made for Laura's bachelorette party, it tasted pretty good but not my favorite.

Mmmm....here are the oreo cupcakes I made for her party and they were yummy!!

Laura and Tommy's Wedding August 8, 2009

Poor Laura stressed about the weather for a week! It was kind of chilly but then the sun came out and it was a beautiful day.

Me with the bride, she definitely was the most beautiful bride that came out of the Temple that day, she was absolutely stunning!

Our's was next!! Being at Laura and Tommy's Wedding made us really excited for our own! Here's Chad and I at the reception they had it at Thanksgiving point and it was beautiful!

Laura gave all of us these chunky flower rings for Christmas so we all wore them with our bridesmaids dresses to the wedding.

Oh Rach, I asked her to take a pic of Chad and I and she snapped one of herself. I sure do love ya Rach!

Welcome Home Rach

My best friend got home on July 2nd from her mission, she served in the Sacramento spanish speaking mission, we were all very excited for her to get home! This was our first girls night with Rachel home, we ate chinese food, watched Bride Wars and of course gabbed for hours!!

We went boating one night after work our friends Johnny and Snigga are so sweet to take all of us, we had so much fun! Here's all us girls and Chad's arm, what a good lookin arm!!

We also went boating the Saturday before with Laura, Tommy, Johnny & Snigga. Tommy had some great pictures and videos from that day but unfortunately his camera got stolen out of his car that night. While we were boating Chad ruptured his eardrum in one of his crashes poor guy! He even went back out a little later to get one last wake board ride in before we left. Later when I was taking him to work he said "Meg look" and I looked over and saw blood coming out of his ear, oh man it was traumatizing for me. Here he is after Rachels homecoming, poor guy was exhausted after our busy weekend of boating, ruptured eardrums, BBQ's and a homecoming, he zonked out in the chair, I couldn't even wake him up to move him to the couch.

Chad and I were driving down 7200 S in Ft Union with the windows rolled down and we heard this really strange noise and when I looked over a Dragon Fly flew into my moving car and went right into the driver seat, here he is stuck in my seat. We had to pull over so Chad could get it out.

Busy Busy Summer!!

Sleepovers!!
Chad's neice Hailey and I had a sleepover one night and we baked all night long! She was a great sidekick! We decided that baking is even more fun when you wear cute aprons and feather boas!

Here's Hailey mixing her cupcakes
Hailey wrote my name on my forehead with frosting
Here's Hailey's cupcakes she made one for each member of the wedding party! The dark blue gel didn't show up on the chocolate but there is a letter on each one for all the names

She made a new friend with Ozzy, he loves to lay on his back and have his arm pitts rubbed, what a weirdo, he was in 7th heaven with Hailey

Another Birthday Party
A co-worker asked me to make a monkey cake for his nephew's first birthday, I was a little out of my league since I am definitely not an artist I don't free hand anything. My mom, sisters and I were laughing so hard as I started because we thought it looked like a teletubby!! I figured a 1 year old wouldn't be able to tell the difference! Apparently he just ripped into it anyway!

These are the new cupcakes I made for the party, they are a chocolate cupcake with a Reese's baked inside then a peanut butter frosting piped on top with another Reese's, if you like peanut butter these are the cupcakes for you!

First Wedding, which means mine's getting closer!!
My good friends Chris and Nichole finally got married on June 25th after dating for 3 years!! We were all really excited for them to finally take the plunge even though it has seemed like they have been married forever! This is us girls with Nichole after the ceremony

Here is Chad and I just posing for a pic!

Laura caught the bouquet, which is funny because she's the next wedding on August 8th

Here's another one of Chad and I under the tent, she had her reception in a big beautiful backyard and then they had a big tent.

Desolation Lake
One night after work Chad was dying to go on a hike and I was dying to get away from all my stress at work so we headed up to Desolation Lake it was so pretty! It had been raining and just cleared up as we started, so the sky was so pretty.

I told Chad to strike a pose!!

On our way back Chad bent over and pulled out his pocket knife and cut me a little bouquet of flowers it was so cute! I held them the whole way down and when we got home I put them in this little vase!

Happy 4th of July
Chad and I headed down to Delta for the 4th, it's my favorite place to be on this particular holiday. Kaitie, Chad and I started out Friday night camping in Oak City Canyon, we made a fire and cooked tin foil dinners then pitched the tent which turned out to be a good thing because it dumped rain on us all night long, surprise surprise. We woke up the next morning to a tent full of spiders and I HATE spiders the inside zipper was broken so they all found refuge from the rain in our tent! We then headed back down to town and watched the parade it's my favorite parade because they throw lots of candy!
Here's Chad enjoying the parade from his lounge chair

I am out with all the kids picking up candy, I kept waiting for all the good stuff like Frooties, those are my favorite, but unfortunatley we were up to our ears in salt water taffy, the first few pieces are good then you're just sick of them!
Here's Kaitie and I with my Grandpa, he is such a stud!!!
Here's my awesome Gram in her bling bling shades, they have rhinestones on the sides! She has been battling breast cancer and we are happy to say she's cancer free right now!!
Here's Chad and I waiting for the 35th annual Delta Demolition Derby, we had to go an hour and a half early to get good seats, it was soooo hot, but people watching made it worth it!

The red truck is my uncle, he ended up taking 3rd place!

Chad got to experience the Delta Rez we my mom's friend has property out at the resevoir and they were there with their boat so we went out and boated before our big party we had back at my grams. We had the whole family and then some for a big party my gourmet cook Aunt's made a huge spread of food, we all ate until we were sick!!
