My mom has been asking me to write on my blog so I promised her I would do it during class, what better time than during a 2 1/2 hour night class and what better story to start my blog off than the one that happened to me on my cruise...ok well one of them, I have some pretty awesome stories from my time in the Caribbean! There is one that stands out a bit more than the rest. So here it goes, let me paint you a picture, I'm on Carnival Pride somewhere in between Grand Cayman and Cozumel, it's our 5th night and I decided to head to the Casino with my new cruise BFF's Melissa and Shawn. Well on this particular night I was standing behind Melissa at the Black Jack table watching her when I noticed two men walk in, they were very good looking so naturally my eyes kind of followed them around the casino, after a bit I redirected my attention to the Black Jack table, then all of a sudden I noticed these two good looking men standing behind me. The thoughts in my head were "strike up a conversation here's your chance!!!" So I did, I turned around and said "are you guys going to play" to which they replied no, that they were only observing, this was the start of our conversation. I asked the taller gentleman who they were traveling with and he told me he was there with his daughter two sons and wife, I quickly looked at the other guy and looked back and said "this is your son??" and he told me it was one of them. I asked how old he was and he told me 19, I told him he did not look old enough to have a 19 year old son, he thanked me and told me that he aged well. I found out they were from Atlanta. I told them I was from Utah and they joked that it must all be new for me, I was a little confused and asked what and he said the gambling and alcohol! I just laughed! Now comes the point in the conversation with the introductions, he asked my name, shook my hand and introduced himself and his son. He wished me a great night and excused himself, leaving his son and I to talk.
His son and I continued talking in the casino, I asked him what he did out in Atlanta and he told me that he actually had a pretty sweet gig, so of course I asked what it was and he told me that he was a manager for a singer, so I asked who he managed, he told me it was actually his dad. Ok so now I am super intrigued so I ask "who's your dad?" he replies "Montell Jordan" I had to ask him who that was and he said "you know" then he began to sing..."this is how we do it" all I could say to this is "SHUT UP!!" So then him and I went to the magic show and once that was over we made plans to meet up the next day at 6 pm at the top of the water slide! Well after all this happened I couldn't wait to tell my friends about my night, well they all teased me and told me that I had to have been fooled, there was no way it was really him, so I got teased the whole next day, someone would say hey did you hear that 50 Cent is on our ship? Ha ha they thought they were so funny, but I didn't care I knew better. Well it didn't help that when we got back on the ship from Cozumel I went to the top of the water slide and he wasn't there!! I was 15 minutes late but my friends didn't care they thought it was so funny that I got stood up especially since they were all at the pool watching me!
The next day was our last day and I was bound and determined to find my cruise boyfriend, Shawn and I went to get our daily fix of sushi and I was telling him that I had to find this guy so I could prove to everyone that he existed, we decided we would go search the ship, well right then he walked right by, so I jumped up and ran over to him. He looked at me and said "I am so mad at you!!!" I asked why he could possibly be mad at ME, and he said "you stood me up last night" I told him it was quite the opposite! So apparently he was there at the top of the water slide he told me that he even went and looked all around when I didn't show up! So we forgave each other and sat down to have more sushi! Well next thing I know here comes Montell, this time people keep coming up to him and asking to get their picture taken with him. He eventually makes his way over to us and Chris says "hey dad, you remember Meg right?" then Montell shakes my hand and says "yes, how are you Meg?" I just looked up at him and said "hi Montell" all the while thinking wow i'm on a first name basis with Montell Jordan! So Chris and I chilled for a while and he told me that his dad was performing that night to promote his new album. He told me I should come and bring my friends so I could prove to them all that I was right! We didn't end up going to the show but we went in later, the girls all wanted to get their picture taken with him. He put his arm around me and said "hey Meg, i'm glad you made it to the show" I've never felt so cool!! ha ha
